Two journalists, who have uncovered groundbreaking news about trafficking, are found brutally murdered. Lisbeth Salander quickly becomes the prime suspect and a major police hunt follows. Meanwhile, Mikael Blomkvist can not believe what he hears on the news. Certain of Lisbeth's innocence he is desperate to get to her before she is cornered and alone.
Meanwhile "Zala", a feared man whose true identity is shrouded in secrecy, starts popping up in the investigation. Eventually, it turns out that he has a connection to Lisbeth Salander. Lisbeth is forced to hide but is determined to retaliate to all that deserve it. Zala is one of them.
